Comparaison fiscale France ↔ Suisse

Free tools for Franco-Swiss cross-border workers
Frontier brings together, in a single app, the tools a cross-border worker really needs: calculating your net pay, understanding your taxes, choosing health insurance, planning retirement and tracking your paperwork. No subscription, no in-app purchase, and most of it works without creating an account.
Swiss net salary simulator
Converts your gross salary into net pay, canton by canton (Geneva, Vaud, Valais): AVS/AI/APG, unemployment insurance, 2nd pillar (LPP), accident insurance and withholding tax where it applies. For Geneva, the withholding-tax scales are the ones officially published for 2026. The calculation is explained in the guide Net salary in Switzerland for a cross-border worker.
Tax comparison France ↔ Switzerland
Compares Swiss withholding tax and French income tax (IRPP) based on your work canton, family situation and your spouse's income. The tool also covers quasi-resident status and ordinary subsequent assessment (TOU). The rules are summarised in Cross-border tax 2026: where are you taxed?
CMU or LAMal
Estimates the cost of each health insurance scheme for your age and family situation, so you can decide within the 3-month option period. The choice is in principle final: it is better to compare before you decide. The detailed figures are in CMU or LAMal in 2026.
Pensions: AVS, LPP, pillar 3a
Explains the three pillars of the Swiss system and simulates a pillar 3a contribution, including the retroactive buy-ins allowed by the 2026 rule. For a cross-border worker, the pillar 3a tax deduction is only worthwhile if you benefit from ordinary subsequent assessment: the tool reminds you of this.
Real estate: a mortgage in France with Swiss income
Simulates the monthly payment, total cost and debt-to-income ratio of a mortgage in France when your income is paid in Swiss francs.
EUR/CHF rate and notifications
Tracks the EUR/CHF exchange rate, updated hourly from Monday to Friday, with a three-year history (ECB data), a quick converter, notification alerts when the rate reaches your threshold or hits a 7- or 30-day record. Everything can be turned off at any time.
Paperwork and G permit reminders
A calendar of a cross-border worker's paperwork (G permit, insurance choice, tax return, remote work) and reminders before your G permit expires, at 90, 30 and 7 days. On remote work, also read the 40% rule in 2026.
Transport and salary grids
Pointers on CFF and Unireso season tickets and the motorway vignette, plus Swiss salary grids by sector and canton to see where your pay stands.
